Handley Park has been farmed by the Lee family for over 30 years but the family has been farming locally for over 5 generations.

The farm is currently being run by Joe ably assisted by his wife Jo and his parents John and Sarah. John and Sarah live on the farm where Barn store is located while Joe and Jo live across the field on another farm with their four daughters and numerous animals!

The farm has been run as a beef and arable enterprise mainly cropping wheat beans and Barley, alongside our newer diversification projects which include a solar field, B&B and of course Barn Store.

We are in the mid tier scheme which means we have conservation headlands and areas of the farm dedicated to flower and seed crops for birds and insects – As a result of this a local beekeeper has 27 hives on the farm.

We have a commercial beef herd and we buy pedigree bulls. We currently have a Limousin bull (a brown one) called Ranger and a Charolais bull (a white one) called Passion. During the summer months they can be seen grazing alongside the cows and their offspring as you drive up the drive to Barn Store.

The conversion of the cattle shed has been assisted by a grant from DEFRA and the EU to promote rural sustainability and local employment.

* The Towcester Barn Store project to upgrade redundant farm buildings for housing storage containers, to facilitate the provision of safe & secure self-storage facilities at Handley Park Farm, Towcester has received funding from The Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE) and is funded by Defra and the EU The European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD): Europe investing in rural areas.
