Elizabeth and Christopher Edwards married in July 1987, and moved into the current farmhouse in 1990.

Chris is the 3rd generation of the Edwards’ family to farm at Ellenhall; the farm originally being tenanted from what was then the Lichfield Estate – Patrick Lichfield, the Queen’s cousin and famous photographer. The farm came into the ownership of the family in 1985. This was primarily a dairy, beef and arable farm, supplying Muller with milk for yoghurt, Mornflake with oats for porridge, Hovis with wheat and beef to Dunbia Meats, who are known for their high quality meat. The farm has also won a local award for conservation and has been involved in the Countryside Stewardship Scheme.

The farm has undergone some changes in recent years with the beef production being on a smaller and more sustainable scale taking into account environmental concerns, with a plan to sell direct to the consumer. Various diversifications, including a livery yard for 30 horses along with hay and straw primarily supplied to the liveries, and property rental of 3 barn conversions, have taken place. They have now, with much delight, converted a grain store into their brand new Barn Store self storage facility; a diversification that fits nicely with their current activities.

Elizabeth has worked full-time for the NHS at the Royal Stoke University Hospital as a medical secretary for the haematology consultants, and has recently achieved 40 years of service with this department. She has supported Chris in the farming business since their marriage despite not having an agricultural background – her parents having been involved in the pottery industry, working for Wedgwood, Coalport and Masons Ironstone.

In the 1990’s Charlotte and Alexander, their children, were born. Charlotte works in agriculture, relief milking and calf rearing, and this allows her time to enjoy and care for her 2 horses and much loved first pony Conker. Alexander is in his final year at Lancaster University where he is reading Geography, specialising in Environmental Sustainability, and he is looking forward to returning to Ellenhall Park Farm to continue the family farming tradition by joining the family business.

There are an excellent team in place to ensure that customer service is paramount and of the highest quality – Richard Oldfield is the Accounts Manager, Aimee Alexander the Secretary and Debbie Fife is Stable Manager.

All this in a quiet, rural location easily accessed off of the A519. Seven miles west of Stafford, two miles south of Eccleshall and eight miles north of Newport. Quick and easy access to Junctions 14 and 15 of the M6 motorway, Newcastle Under Lyme.
